Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the Answer of 14 October 2026 to Question 32581 on Armoured Fighting Vehicles: Finance, what progress he has made in procuring an armoured mortar capability.
This question was answered on 28th October 2026
The Army continues to require an armoured mortar capability. Alternative delivery routes, including through the Heavy Protected Mobility (PM) programme are being considered. The Heavy PM programme remains in its concept phase, and no final procurement decision has been taken.
