Business Travel: Quarantine

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps she is taking to ensure that UK citizens who are required to quarantine in a hotel after a business trip to an amber list country under covid-19 travel restrictions have access to adequate work-from-home facilities.

Arrivals from ‘amber list’ countries can currently quarantine in their own accommodation.

From 19 July, arrivals from ‘amber list’ countries who have been fully vaccinated by a National Health Service administered vaccine will not have to quarantine. The guidance on safe working states that employers and employees should discuss their working arrangements and employers should take every possible step to facilitate their employees working from home, including providing suitable IT and equipment to enable remote working.
