Our Child Poverty Strategy sets out the steps we are taking to reduce child poverty this Parliament. The removal of the two child limit will lift 450,000 children out of relative poverty after housing costs in 2029-30, rising to 550,000 children alongside other measures set out in our Strategy, such as the expansion of Free School Meals. These interventions will lead to the largest expected reduction in child poverty over a Parliament since comparable records began. Details of this assessment are available here.

We are now focused on delivering the commitments in the Strategy, monitoring its impact and the trajectory of poverty. Our Monitoring and Evaluation Baseline Report sets out a comprehensive and robust framework for how the Strategy is being implemented and evaluated including analytical plans and mechanisms for oversight.
