We are aware of reports that a young girl was raped and murdered in Uttar Pradesh, and that the police have arrested a man in relation to this offence. The UK is committed to tackling violence against women and girls around the world. We work with the Indian Government and civil society organisations to support their efforts to tackle these dreadful and tragic cases.
