Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, if he will provide an update on his department's work on the national proximity monitoring technology pilot and information on when the pilot is expected to begin.
The Government has committed to piloting proximity monitoring technology as part of its wider work to strengthen protections for victims of violence against women and girls. Officials are currently developing the pilot and engaging with key partners across the victims sector, including victims' commissioners and domestic abuse organisations, to ensure the service is informed by victims' experiences and needs, while also defining the technical and operational requirements needed for delivery. The Government remains committed to introducing a proximity monitoring pilot by the end of this Parliament, and further details will be announced as soon as possible.
