Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the answer of 7 September 2026 to question 23267 on Defence: Property, which states that “No projects within the Defence Estate Optimisation Portfolio have been resubmitted with a reduced scope to meet affordability targets”, if he can clarify the In-Year Variance Narrative comment for the Defence Optimisation Programme in the 2025/26 National Infrastructure & Service Transformation Authority report, which states “Affordability challenges presented by some projects have necessitated a resubmission and reduction in scope to meet Affordability targets”.

The resubmission and reduction in scope referenced at point four in the narrative relates to the overall schedule and funding profile for the totality of the portfolio.

It does not refer to the resubmission of individual projects within the Defence Estate Optimisation Portfolio. No projects have been resubmitted.
