P&O Ferries: Tonnage Tax

Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, if he will hold discussions with the Chancellor of the Exchequer on removing P&O Ferries' (a) Cypriot, (b) Bahamas and (c) Bermudan registered vessels from the tonnage tax regime.

The department is working closely with partners across government in our response to P&O Ferries’ actions. The Tonnage Tax register is owned by HMRC and any action to be taken in respect of companies on that register is a matter for that department alone.
