The UK is supporting the Government of Kenya's response through the £120m Hunger Safety Net Programme, which the UK helped establish and has contributed to since 2007. This supports the most vulnerable people in Kenya, including in Turkana. Since February 2019, emergency cash payments have been made to nearly 7,000 households (around 42,000 people) in Turkana, drawing on European Union funding.
