Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what representations he his making to his Bahraini counterpart on the welfare of female human rights defenders detained in Isa Town Prison.

The UK has a continuing dialogue with the Government of Bahrain and all Bahraini human rights oversight bodies. We continue to encourage those with concerns about treatment in detention to report these to the relevant human rights oversight body. We urge these oversight bodies to carry out swift and thorough investigations.
