Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment he has made of the effect of the proposed NHS Tariff and its alignment with the commitments set out in the NHS 10 Point Efficiency Plan on reducing infection rates in hospitals in the field of ophthalmology.

The national tariff is not designed to incentivise or reward providers around infection rates. Other mechanisms are employed to support the National Health Service to reduce infection rates.
