The Government recognises the UK aerospace sector’s long-standing distribution in major regional clusters, with its workforce, innovation and manufacturing activities concentrated in regions such as the South West, West Midlands, North West, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Based on 2024 data, around 88% of the UK aerospace workforce is located outside London and the South East. The aerospace support package announced on 22 July 2026 is expected to predominately support investment, innovation and high-skilled jobs in these UK clusters.
