Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, with reference to the Answers of 17 March 2015 to Questions 227042 and 227043, from which budget NHS England will allocate funding for the building of the proton beam centres at the Christie Hospital in Manchester and University College Hospital London; and what contingency arrangements are in place for the planned budget being exceeded.

The £250 million funding for the building and equipping of the proton beam therapy centres at the Christie Hospital in Manchester and University College Hospital London is being funded by the Department and not NHS England.
