These statistics do not contain benefit type information. However, all capped households included in the official statistics are in receipt of Housing Benefit. At November 2014 (the latest available data) 24,252 households are subject to the cap, and therefore are in receipt of Housing Benefit. At November 2014 22,866 capped households had 1 or more child dependants so we could infer that all of these capped households with child dependant(s) are in receipt of child benefit.
A suite of evaluation was published on 15 December 2014. This evaluation made estimates of the proportion of capped households in scope for the cap who were in receipt of Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), Income Support (IS), Employment Support Allowance (ESA) or other benefit types over time.
