Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what estimate he has made of the current number of (a) male prisoners living as women and (b) female prisoners living as men.

There are no central records of the number of prisoners who have self-declared a transgender status. Individuals with a gender recognition certificate are recorded on administrative systems in their legal gender, and are not identifiable as having changed gender.
