Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how many people have been living with a diagnosis of diabetes in each of the last five years.
NHS Digital has provided the following data that details the number of people who were registered with diabetes or under the care of a specialist diabetes service in England in each of the five National Diabetes Audit (NDA) periods 2013/14 to 2017/18:

Disclosure control has been applied to all figures, as per the NDA publication - all numbers are rounded to the nearest 5, unless the number is 1 to 7, in which case it is rounded to ‘5’.
It should be noted that participation was particularly low for the 2013-14 and 2014-15 audit periods. Audit participation is the percentage of eligible general practitioner practices in England and Wales that submitted data to the NDA during the audit period. To be eligible, a practice must have been open for the full audit period.
