The Food Standards Agency (FSA) advises that the set up and operating costs will be resourced from the FSA’s operating budget. The FSA has committed to a review of likely future needs after two years. The Elliott report estimates that the Food Crime Unit will cost between £2-4 million per year. It is too early to predict exact costs at this stage.
