Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, what assessment she has made of the potential merits of requiring (a) charities and (b) trade unions to register on the Register of Consultant Lobbyists.

Earlier this year, the Government commissioned the Ethics and Integrity Commission to conduct a review of transparency around lobbying. That report was published on 9 July 2026. We are grateful to the Commission for its work, which we are considering carefully. We will present our response to the EIC's report in due course.
