Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps his Department is taking to assess the potential merits of the universal fingerprint test to aid the early detection of cancer.

The future availability of any new or novel cancer detection processes on the National Health Service would be subject to large scale clinical trials demonstrating the safety and efficacy of the approach and subsequent assessments of its cost effectiveness for routine use.
