Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, if he will publish his Department's economic indicators by region.
The department currently publishes four main economic indicators for DCMS sectors: gross value added (GVA), employment, business demographics, and trade. Of these, the first three are available by region:
The exception is trade in goods and services, which are not produced by region. This is because regional analysis is not currently supported by the data available. The department is working with ONS to investigate whether it will be possible to produce estimates of trade in goods and services by region for DCMS sectors in the future.
Forthcoming publications are announced at least four weeks ahead of publication in the Official Statistics Release Calendar, which is updated monthly.
