Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what estimate he has made of how many people aged over 50 are suffering from long covid.

No recent estimate has been made.

The last published estimate from the Office of National Statistics is that for the four-week period ending 5 March 2023, 960,000 people in private households in the United Kingdom over the age of 50 reported experiencing long COVID symptoms.
