Papua: Measles

Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what discussions he has had with his counterpart in Indonesia Government on vaccinations for measles in West Papua after an outbreak in that province killed at least 100 children in 2018.

Officials at our Embassy in Jakarta, including the Ambassador, visit Papua regularly. During these visits, they consistently press the Indonesian authorities to address legitimate concerns and ensure the sustainable and equitable development of the province. This includes access to healthcare.
