Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will support the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry campaign to encourage parents to take their children to the dentist before they are one year old.

The Government is committed to improving dental health in children, as set out in the Government’s policy paper ‘Prevention is better than cure : our vision to help you live well for longer’ published on 5 November 2018 which is available at the following link:

The Department welcomes campaigns such as the one by the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry. Early attendance to dental practices, as well as good oral hygiene, are key to laying the foundations for a lifetime of good oral health in children.
