We are aware of reports linking Hikvision to the human rights situation in Xinjiang. The Foreign Secretary has not discussed these reports with Cabinet Colleagues, however we frequently raise our serious concerns about the situation in Xinjiang with the Chinese authorities and at the UN, and will continue to do so. Through our Overseas Business Guidance we encourage any UK business involved in investing in Xinjiang to consider conducting appropriate due diligence to satisfy themselves that their activities do not support, or risk being seen to be supporting, any human rights violations or abuses.
