Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether it is her Department's policy to take steps to avoid moving asylum seekers from a specific hotel or location where a (a) health professional, (b) teacher and (c) other service providers supports an individual remaining at an exiting location.
The overriding principle when allocating accommodation is that it is offered on a ‘no choice basis’, in line with our Allocation of Accommodation policy.
Caseworkers may receive requests to provide accommodation in a particular location due to exceptional circumstances. The Home Office’s policy in dealing with such requests is set out in the Allocation of Accommodation policy - Allocation of accommodation (publishing.service.gov.uk)
