We are committed to supporting the introduction of 4,000 zero emission buses and achieving an all zero emission bus fleet across the entire UK. Across the UK, an estimated 3,400 zero emission buses have been funded since February 2020.

On 26 March 2022 the Department announced £198.3 million funding from the Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas (ZEBRA) scheme for local transport authorities in England outside of London.
