Public Health England set up the Healthy Places programme in 2013 in recognition that where we live and the homes we live in have a big impact on our health and wellbeing. The programme has produced a range of publications on such impacts and developed a range of partnerships, for example with the Local Government Association and National Parks England, and programmes across national and local government which aim to raise awareness of the effect of the built environment on health and wellbeing.
