Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what plans his Department has to develop targeted public health messaging on diabetes to improve men's health.

In March 2016, Public Health England (PHE) launched One You, a campaign targeted at men and women (40-60) to encourage them to make healthy changes such as increasing physical activity, improving diet, stopping smoking and reducing alcohol consumption in order to reduce the risk of conditions such as diabetes. Additionally, PHE’s Change4Life campaign encourages families across England to “eat well, move more, live longer”. Type 2 diabetes is highlighted in the campaign as a potential health consequence of poor diet and inactivity.
