Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, how much funding each local authority area will be allocated for transitional protection for maintained nursery schools in each year that such funding is available.

We are providing supplementary funding to Maintained Nursery Schools so that they can maintain their 2016-17 funding levels until 2019-20. Illustrative allocations for supplementary funding in 2017-18, which totalled approximately £55m, were announced on 1 December 2016.
