Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what estimate he has made of the cost of recovery and storage of stolen vehicles to (a) the Metropolitan and (b) Lewisham police forces.

Data on the cost of recovery and storage of stolen vehicles is not routinely collected by the Home Office. It is for individual police forces to organise this activity as efficiently as possible, whether by contracting out or using their own staff.
