Question to the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero:
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what recent discussions he has had with the Chancellor of the Exchequer on the (a) cost of energy for people with disabilities and (b) introduction of a social tariff.
Government Ministers meet regularly to discuss a wide range of issues.
Officials from HM Treasury and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero are working closely with a range of stakeholders to assess options, including social tariffs, for a new approach to consumer protection from 2024.
As part of this, the Government are working with disability organisations to assess the cost and affordability of energy for people with disabilities.
