Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what estimate he has made of the total cost to the NHS of the introduction of the apprenticeship levy to date.

The Apprenticeship Levy came into operation in April 2017. The Department estimates National Health Service employers contributed approximately £200 million in levy contributions in 2017/18, and will contribute an estimated £200 million in 2018/19.
