Wines: Excise Duties

Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, how much the Treasury received in wine duty receipts for the first quarter of (a) 2018-19 and (b) 2019-20.

Total wine duty for the first quarter of 2018-19 and 2019-20 are £1086m and £1061m respectively.

Information on the amount of excise duty collected on wine, is are routinely published online by HM Revenue & Customs.

The Wine duty rates were increased on the 1st February 2019. An assessment of the impact of this measure on an annual basis was published at budget 2018 and can be found here:
