We have no plans at this time for a public consultation on the compliant environment policy.

Successive Governments have brought forward policies to prevent the misuse of public services and benefits by immigration offenders. Key compliant environment measures, including right to work checks by employers to prevent illegal working and right to rent checks by landlords have been the subject of full public consultations. We conduct impact assessments to fully consider policy objectives, intended effects and the Government’s intervention reasoning. Impact assessments were published for both the 2014 and 2016 Immigration Acts.
