Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, with reference to the Female Offender Strategy, published by his Department on 28 June 2018, whether his Department plans to impose a financial charge on probation employees to be registered with the professional probation register announced in that strategy.

The Department is exploring options for developing a professional register for probation staff. This work is in the early scoping stages and no decisions have been made on how the register will be funded.
