Public Health England monitors COVID-19 case rates by a range of demographics including ethnicity and Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD). As of 3 June 2021, case rates were highest in ‘other ethnic’ and Pakistani ethnic groups. By IMD, case rates were highest in the most deprived group in the 10 to 16 years old and 20 to 39 years old age groups and highest in the least deprived group in the 17 to 19 years old age group.
