The remediation of buildings with Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) cladding is often a complex process which needs to be planned and carried out carefully. This means that the time taken to remove and replace the cladding will vary.

The Department has published an Information Note with the assistance of the Industry Response Group to support building owners during their remediation process. The Information Note can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/information-note-for-landlords-and-building-owners-of-tall-residential-buildings-with-acm-cladding.

We have also offered free screening tests at the Building Research Establishment (BRE) to all owners of buildings over 18 metres with ACM cladding to help speed up the remediation process.
