Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how many excess deaths there were at Hull Royal Infirmary in each of the last six months; and what the causes of those deaths were.

Data on excess deaths are not available by NHS Trust. It is likely that a combination of factors has contributed, including high flu prevalence, the ongoing challenges of COVID-19 and health conditions such as heart disease and diabetes. We are taking steps to help reduce excess deaths, including those which involve COVID-19, and those due to other factors.
