Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what recent estimate he has made of the annual cost to the NHS of treating chronic urinary tract infections.

Clinical commissioning groups provide an estimate of their overall expenditure on problems of the genitourinary system in their annual Programme Budgeting data submission to NHS England. The aggregate value of these estimates was £3,146 million in financial year 2016/17.
