In 2017, the Department commissioned a National Carers Passport Toolkit Project with Carers UK in partnership with Carers Trust. The aim of the project was to look at generating more widespread adoption of the Carer Passport, a resource to assist local organisations and services in developing their own schemes to increase recognition of carers and help them access services and support, whilst at the same time also increasing the number of carers’ passport schemes in operation across England.

The project completed its work at the end of March. The Toolkit and supporting materials can be accessed via the following link:

The final phase of the project is delivery of the work, dissemination and its evaluation, which is currently ongoing. On completion of the evaluation, next steps will be considered to support further promotion of the toolkit.
