Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what the total annual cost to the NHS was of hospital contract funerals under the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 in each year between 2010 and 2017.

Neither the Department, NHS Improvement nor Public Health England hold any data on the annual cost to the National Health Service of hospital contract funerals.
