Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what the timetable is for information to be provided to his Department by Cifas for immigration enforcement.

The Home Office updates the list of disqualified persons shared with Cifas for the purpose of the 2014 and 2016 Acts on a weekly basis, and banks and building societies refer to this data when checking applications for new accounts and reviewing existing accounts.

The Home Office set up a mechanism to enable financial organisations to report, on a voluntary basis at any time, new information on other financial product applications to Home Office intelligence teams.
