Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether (a) his Department and (b) Cifas has undertaken an audit of the bank refusals made in error between January and July 2016 identified by the Independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration; and what steps his Department has taken to lower that error rate.

The Home Office has reviewed the specific data sets identified through the inspectorate’s file sampling exercise of records shared with Cifas to ensure their continued suitability for inclusion in the specification.
