Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, if he will make it his policy to remove the benefit cap for large families to help tackle child poverty.
This question was answered on 31st January 2023
The Secretary of State has reviewed the benefit cap levels and decided they should be increased in line with CPI in the year to September 2022 (10.1%) from April 202, subject to the approval of parliament.
There are no current plans to change the benefit cap policy.
