The Government is currently engaging with a wide range of bodies on revisions to the adults at risk in immigration detention statutory guidance following a judgment handed down by the High Court on 10 October 2017, and will continue to do so.

The Government is required by the Court to respond to the judgment within a reasonable timeframe. Stephen Shaw CBE is currently reviewing the Department’s implementation of the recommendations contained in his report on the welfare in detention of vulnerable persons, published in January 2016.
