Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what discussions he has had with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on the recent review and survey of safety oversight commissioned by the CCA safety director, Mark Swan.

During the three years since this review was conducted there have been regular meetings between the CAA and the Department for Transport (DfT), including at Ministerial level. These meetings allow the DfT and CAA to liaise on all aspects of the regulator's functions, including its safety responsibilities.
