Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what steps he is taking to prevent prevent cyber propaganda from Russia.

The UK takes the issue of disinformation very seriously and is working at pace with partners to combat false and misleading narratives. We are working collaboratively by providing ourselves and our international allies, such as G7 partners, with a better understanding of how different techniques are used as part of malicious information operations, so we can protect against those techniques more effectively.

We know that Russia routinely uses disinformation as a foreign policy tool. We will continue to monitor for any disinformation campaigns so that we are ready to respond to them quickly and effectively. We are focused on addressing disinformaton by any actor, whether state or non-state.
