Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what the value is of NHS contracts with Carillion plc.
This response distinguishes between Private Finance Initiative (PFI) and Non-PFI contracts National Health Service trusts hold with Carillion.
For NHS PFI contracts where Carillion provides services, the service cost components of the annual PFI payment by NHS trusts, as reported by the trusts for the last closed financial year (2016/17), are in the table below.
The services that Carillion provide are for building maintenance, usually referred to as ‘Hard’ Facilities Management or ‘Hard FM’; and non-clinical support services (one of a combination of cleaning, portering, laundry and others), usually referred to as ‘Soft’ Facilities Management or ‘Soft FM’.
