To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, by what date the Government plans to introduce a statutory breathing space scheme for household debt.

The Government has set out a clear timeline for the next stages of implementing a statutory breathing space scheme.

A Call for Evidence on the scheme closed on 16th January, and officials are now working on the development of the policy. The Government will consult on a single policy proposal in the middle of this year.
