The Government has no plans to routinely collect data on the ethnicity, race or religion of people encountered on Immigration Enforcement operations. This data is not recorded as it is not relevant to the determination of a person’s immigration status at that point. This data may be captured at a later stage where it is relevant to an application made or the individual has been detained.
