Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, whether it remains her Department's policy to undertake a consultation exercise on the future of children's centres.

Our Social Mobility Action Plan, published on 14 December 2017, sets out the government’s ambition to close the word gap in the early years. This is a clear direction for all those who have a part to play, including children’s centres. Our focus now is on delivering this ambition. Through our new early years’ system leadership programme we will work with sector leaders to identify how best to do so, including through children’s centres.
